After the Dettol wash, the Goo Gone wash enabled me to get the stickiness off of the minis. Goo Gone is an oily substance used to get tape or glue off of different surfaces. After another 8+ hours in Dettol, they were still super sticky. This ruined my brush, stained my hands and also annoyed me to hell. The Quickshade never really separated from the minis, meaning that even though some paint was coming off, there was now a very sticky brown paste covering the minis. I suspected that after a few hours and a good scrub that I would be good to go. That being said, for the first step in stripping my minis, I used good ol’ Dettol. For those who don’t know, Quickshade is a very thick sticky liquid that is applied to the minis after painting to quickly shade them. Hope this helps at least one person, it would have saved me a lot of trouble had I known.Īfter I initially painted them, I applied Army Painter Quickshade. I’m currently stripping my Zombicide miniatures in order to repaint, and I wanted to share some observations.
